WhizzKids nominated for an award
Published by Oli Walsh
Africaid′s WhizzKids United programme has been nominated for an award with SCORE4africa for its outstanding work in the field of HIV.
SCORE4africa is a social enterprise wholly owned by UK Registered Charity The African Foundation for Development. It believes football can help transform lives. We seek to recognise, reward and encourage those individuals, organisations, players, academies and institutions using football as a tool to drive positive change in Africa.
The WhizzKids United programme has been nominated in the category ′Partnership Award′;, for the work with Abbott in South Africa and the UK. Last year the award was won by Chelsea and Right to Play, and also included nominations for the Craig Bellamy Foundation and Right to Dream and Manchester United and Unicef, so hope we are amongst such esteemed programmes this year.
The awards ceremony is being held in London on Monday, and is being attended by Marcus McGilvray, the CEO of Africaid and Abbott representatives. We are keeping our fingers crossed but realise just to be nominated is a big honour.
