WhizzKids United to partner with Oxfam Australia
Published by Oli Walsh
Africaidís WhizzKids United are delighted to announce a new partnership with Oxfam Australia. The partnership has been facilitated as part of the Joint Oxfam HIV and AIDS Program (JOHAP).
Oxfam Australia manages the Joint Oxfam HIV and AIDS Project (JOHAP) in South Africa which was established in response to the worsening HIV and AIDS epidemic in the region. The project seeks to strengthen civil societyís response to HIV and AIDS by supporting integrated community-based services for HIV prevention and care, including a focus on gender and sexuality and the rights of people living with, and affected by, HIV and AIDS.
JOHAP are contributing to the Life Skills programme in both Umlazi and Edendale for term 2. This will involve planning, hosting and implementing the Life Skills programme in two schools and running two World Cup Style Tournaments, as the culmination of the life skills programme. Furthermore, we will conduct a behaviour change assessment on the learners of the two schools as part of our ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our programme.
We are very excited about this partnership and hope it will be the start of a longer term partnership.
