Africaid's WhizzKids United was one of 26 projects, selected out of a total of 471, that were chosen as part of Nike Red′s Lace Up Save Lives Campaign.

The NIKE RED Campaign, sells (NIKE)RED Laces to generate money to help people living with HIV in Africa to get the medicine they need to stay alive and help educate Africa′s younger generation to help stop the spread of HIV.

WhizzKids United′s first Health Academy opened on June 1st, and one of its first structured activities will be their Mixed Gender League, funded by Nike.

The mixed gender league will act as a draw card for youths in the area to attend the Academy, enrol in the Life Skills programme and engage in the services offered. Furthermore, the league will promote gender equality, empowering girls through football, creating a level playing field and removing barriers between sexes.

To check out the video and the other projects being supported, please go to NIKE RED to check it out.
