A newly released UNAIDS study predicts that nearly 90 million new HIV infections could occur in Africa in the next 20 years, and recommended that an additional $200 billion US be committed to stop the spread of the disease.

The Medical News reports that "if funding and policies stay as they are now, a fourfold increase in the total number of people dying from Aids is to be expected."

Africaid is an organisation whose resources are 100% committed to stopping this dire prediction from coming true. The report stated that a coordinated international effort is needed, so we hope that wherever you are in the world, you will join with us in combating the epidemic!
